Histatic Competition!

This is a first for Histatic-a quote competition!

I want to know what it means and who the people are that have been referred to.

"Rosa sat so Martin could walk; Martin walked so Obama could run; Obama is running so our children can fly"

The first Swanwick Hall student to get the correct answer will win a prize! Answers are to be posted on here.

Good luck!

It is reffering to Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King and Barack Obama. This is what Jay-Z said in support of Obama.

Fantastic, Meaghan! You are right! Can you tell me why he said Rosa 'sat' and Martin 'walked'? for a bonus?

Well done-prize on the way!

There was a book written about Rosa Parks called 'She Sat, She Inspired'? In Martin's I Have A Dream speech he said "And as we walk, we must make the pledge to march ahead"?

The people referred to are Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King jr and President Barack Obama.
Its mean that Rosa sat on that bus and wouldn't give it up to a white person even at the drivers orders, Martin walked in Washington for Black rights in 1963 this is were he told his I have a dream speech Obama ran is put there to suggest that he ran for presidential election as the first Black president of the Americas. So our children can fly is referring to the fact that it looked almost impossible to begin with that Obama would win but now he has it shows that if you set your mind to it you might just one day be able to fly.
Thanks Miss Magee
